This was my entry for this years San Diego Cake Show Professional tiered fondant disconnected. My inspiration was a NY Ballet human art picture. The picture reminded me of a dahlia, so I created the "skirt" with gum paste dahlia petal and I dusted various petals to give the effect of the varied color tulle in the skirt. The bodice is individual lace cut outs detailed with gelatin sequins and gumpaste broaches and rhinestones. I was very happy with results....and I received 1st Place!
