A hamburger cake has been one those on my "to do" list. It's my son, Chris's birthday, and I wanted to make something, fun, fast and easy. Thank goodness I baked too much cake and cupcakes a little bit ago and froze. And I also had extra icing on hand as well. Both good insurance for a decorator. I got a dreadful cold, leading to a chest infection, so having cake and icing on backup saved me. I looked at many cakes for guidance, and I used a tutorial by Wicked Goodies as reference. It was very helpful. Cake was vanilla champagne and the hamburger pattie is chocolate brownie cupcakes mixed with buttercream. French fries are toasted cake ends, and ketchup is piping gel and food colouring.
