A quickie (and belated) cake for my granddaughter’s 20th birthday. She asked for a simple cake with owls and leopard print and a little inclusion of a ring she had received as a gift. I was not in a position to make her birthday cake in August so we saved it for a special occasion which presented itself this week after she had been through a bit of a hurdle!

The cake is a Victoria sponge cake coated with white chocolate cream ganache. Everything hand modelled and painted. Chocolate shards are home made. The print is painted with edible powders and cocoa butter. Shannon’s mother Sarah took the super-cute photo of it in her garden.
