Giraffe Father's Day Cake

There is a story behind this cake. In the sugar sheet image there is a young lady with angel wings lying on the ground in front of the group. This young lady had passed away in a terrible car accident the year prior. The father of the young girl was having a hard time dealing with the upcoming Father's Day, so, the mother had me make this cake for him. I took an image of the daughter and added angel wings to it. Then I took her image and superimposed it onto the family photo. Then I faded her image and changed the sky background to make it look more like what my client considered heaven would look like. I then had the image printed onto a sugar sheet. The young lady was very fond of giraffes and this is the reason for the genre of this cake. She also had a tattoo that read "Progress...not Perfection". I know from personal experience what it feels like to loose a child. It is never a place that you would wish on your worst enemy and I truly felt honored to be able to help bring some solace to these parents.
