Cakes for the wonderful teachers at my son's school. This year, I tried to represent almost all the subjects he's in - Gen Ed., SPED, Speech, Library, Music & Performing Arts, PE, and Visual Arts. Almost everything is edible.

Backpack is a 9"X13" chocolate fudge cake with dark chocolate buttercream filling. Top pouch is a Rice Krispies Treat. All covered and decorated with fondant - even the zipper is fondant.

Basketball is a 6" diameter vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, covered and decorated with fondant.

Large green and blue books are actually one stacked cake. 7"X11" lemon cake with vanilla buttercream, covered and decorated with fondant. The green book represents his social skills class, and the top book is supposed to be a book of idioms. The chattering teeth go with the book title. Teeth are white chocolate made using a mold, and the feet are gumpaste.

Library and speech book are Rice Krispies Treats covered and decorated with fondant.

Music and Performing Arts mask and treble clef are gumpaste. Notes were drawn freehand using an edible marker. Stick is plastic and not edible.

Glue bottle is gumpaste with a custom edible image.

Pencil sharpener, whistle and scissors are fondant.

Apple is solid white chocolate with a fondant leaf.

Picture frame is gumpaste with an edible image of a drawing he did of himself with his toy truck playing in the playhouse in the backyard.
