Flirty Little Bridal Cake
A different look on a bridal shower cake. I had the opportunity to make a cake for a friend hosting a bridal shower. I was given control over the design but was told that the cake shouldn't be too much bridal or too much pink. We went for a bold black and white design and I wanted to mimic the foil gold font that you see frequently on stationary these days. The host wanted a peony but after making a traditional sugar peony, the style just didn't feel right to me. So I made a more stylized version. I got to try some techniques out as well such as the wonderful Evil Cake Genius Floral Lace Netting mesh stencil (superb) and the Cake Lace 3D mold. This cake was so much fun to make.
I love it, very pretty!
Thank you. I finally got a chance to try out some techniques
Beautiful! Love the flowers!
Thank you MsGF. It took me a while to figure out how to make them that way
I just love this cake, and your description nails it - sooo flirty!
Thanks so much Nancylou.
Your peony is gorgeous!
Can you tell me please, which veiner you've worked?
Thank you for the kid comments Pippilotta. I believe I used Nicholas Lodge's peony veiner.
