Dr. Who cake for my son's amazing 3rd grade teacher. The 9th doctor (Christopher Eccelston) is her favorite, so I tried to decorate it with things related to his version. The 12" bottom tier is decorated to resemble a Dalek, 10" is stars & space, 8" tier is made to look like his leather jacket and t-shirt, 5"X10" Tardis, then 6" stars and space again. So I didn't overwhelm her with cake, only the jacket and top space tier are actually cake - the rest are styrofoam dummies. Dalek and Doctor figure are action figures that she can add to the already impressive geeky/nerdy/fun collection she has in her classroom. So much fun to make - I got to try lots of new techniques!
