Space shuttle cake for a friend's birthday. The actual cake part is the shuttle's body. Cake is a marble cake that's about 24 inches long, 3.5 inches wide, and 4 inches tall, covered and decorated with fondant. Shuttle's wings are a cake board covered in fondant. Tail fin is gumpaste. Space cake board is covered in fondant and painted with food coloring (based on a tutorial from Artisan Cake Company). It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the shuttle is raised above the space cake board to make it look like it's floating.
