This cake was for Icing Smiles. While the design is essentially what I was shooting for, the execution isn't quite what I had planned...Not enough hours in the day. (I had to cakes, simultaneously for Icing Smiles (brothers - a 4 year-old and a 14 year-old). This cake supposed to be an aerial view of the Balloon Bomber and cloud with the outline of a settlement below it.

Anyways... sharing mostly because of the balloon, which turned out quite well. It was made by layering damp wafer paper onto an actual balloon. Once mostly dry, I airbrushed it with red food coloring. After the airbrushing was mostly dry, I popped the balloon and removed it. It also has a few fondant details.
