This wedding cake was made with edible violets because the bride and groom have a special favorite place in Delft where there a wild violets growing. This is very rare in a city like Delft. Delf is where the painter Johannes Vermeer has lived. He is known for the famous painting The girl with the pearl earing. The veneau is Hotel Johannes Vermeer where they have a great picture of this painting in the wall!
