First time doing a topsy-turvy...had to travel 2 1/2 hours with it! Groom wanted color scheme of black, white, silver to match reception. Had a few "bumps" along the way that I had to fix....have better ideas what to do next time I need to make one.
Thanks! I used the instructions here on CC as a guideline, except I used the same sizes of layers on top of one another (example: all 10" tiers on top of each other, etc.) Then carved sides and buttercream frosted, smoothed and added fondant accents. The things I would do different: Put a cake circle in middle of each tier for added support. I would transport entire cake already constructed with 2 dowel rods driven down into middle of entire cake into foam base for stability.

I like the color combination!!
Your FIRST one? Awesome!! How did you construct it??
That's great. Would you share with us the ideas you have for the next one? :)))))
Is that mmf ? and if yes how much black did it take to get it so black? I have a black ans silver wedding cake to do end of the month
What did you use for the silver color. It such a solid silver color. I have not been able to get a solid silver, just a gritty mess.
