Red Dragonling Cake

Red Dragonling Cake on Cake Central

Red Dragonling Cake by H. Sherman, Art2Eat Cakes - 6/2/11 - This is my second most popular cake, and was made as a donation to our daughter's school for the annual Silent Auction. The winner of the auction was having a Renaissance Birthday Party for her son, and she asked him to describe his role-playing 'character'. He said: "(He) is a red dragonling. Which means an immature dragon who has wings but cannot yet fly. In his hand he holds a white healing orb which is a orb that casts healing spells". Okay! I Love a specific request! This one was Vanilla Orange cake and was filled with Milk Chocolate buttercream. The spines and claws are made of gumpaste, and the scales are from colored fondant. If the birthday boy had been a bit older I might have used red velvet cake...har-har. His mom tells me every time she sees me how much fun he had with that cake and that he was the absolute center of attention on his Birthday!
