This is such a beautiful cake.  It has very clean lines.  How did you make the ruffles around the bottom tier?  Again, this is so beautiful.  Everything about this cake is beautiful--from the monogram to the braided border and flowers.  It is incredibly pristine. You have talent and it shows!

Thank you, yellow dog.  The ruffle was made by adding a little Tylose Powder to my fondant and cutting the fondant in rounded top pieces and straight edge bottoms then attaching them to the cake.  Start at the top of the tier and work to the bottom.  Only use your cake glue on the bottom of the rounded pieces that you are attaching to the cake.  Once on the cake, I used my finger to curl back the top edge.  You may have to go back several times as you are working to adjust the ruffle a little.  After it is dry (or close to it), I mixed a little color with alcohol and added color to the top of the ruffles.
