You did a fabulous job. You could have used a small piece of styrofoam under the lense to prop it up and it would have probably not even been able to be seen. I have seen that done with cars and such.

That is awesome. Daughter is a photographer - they use Fuji S-3's. She wanted me to make her boss a replica for his birthday -- but I couldn't figure out how to get the lens to cantilever out from the middle of the (relatively small) body. I should have made him a Pentax! This is great. Very well done.

Very cool...my only comment is what you probably already see...the bottom of the lens is "squashed" a little; good job on a hard project!

Thank you everyone. I did create the lens standing upright so when I attached it to the cake it "settled". I was wondering if anyone would be bothered by it and since Jeking did mention it was "squashed" I will work on recreating it tonight before the grant review tomorrow. Again thanks.

OMG! This is so cool! One of my gfs is graduating from photography school this summer and I so desperately want to make her a camera cake...no idea what cam she uses though....was this difficult to make?

wow... just... wow! my mom does digital photography and has a wonderful Nikon. I'll have to try to do something like this, to surprise her. She'd LOVE it! What a great concept!
