Watercolor Birthday Cake

Watercolor Birthday Cake on Cake Central

Just a little birthday cake for a coworker who loves flowers. It's a simple edible image on all five surfaces, made from a watercolor painting. Little bits of pearls at the corners. I tried several different ways to add "Happy Birthday Liz" and didn't like any of them. Ended up making a plaque that will just sit in front of it. Everything I tried seemed just "too much." WASC cake with champagne-flavoried buttercream.

Awww, thanks! I'm kind of embarassed to post so many edible image cakes, but non-cake people just love 'em. This cake was a HUGE hit! Plus, everyone fought over the pearls. They thought that was way cool. I'll have to use more white chocolate brushed with pearl dust. LOL!

This cake is VERY cool! I would have sworn you painted it. I have never seen an edible image done this way. It's gorgeous!
