Practice Cake
I just purchased petal pans, so I wanted to practice with them. This is the 9" pan. I had a really hard time icing the cake without losing the petal shape. I finally gave up, and was so tired I just quickly finished the rest. Not great, but the roses were my first try with candy clay. I enjoyed making them. Any advice for petal pans would be greatly appreciated. I was using buttercream.
Looks yummy .. good job!
The cake looks wonderful, what exactly is candy clay, is it like fondant??
Thank you! Candy Clay is melted candy melts (I use the Wilton brand) mixed with corn syrup. It feels like clay. The only problem with it is it gets really soft the more you handle it.
So beautiful. Calm and sweet.
Holy CAKE!!! that is awesome and your roses they look sooooooo real. They are the best I've ever seen
WOW! Very beautiful! I love it.
Hmm.. sounds like a good topic for the forums - tips on using petal pans. I have a set of these, too, but haven't tried more than one which was ganache covered. That's a really pretty cake!!!
