This was the cake I made for my first daughter's first birthday and was my first ever attempt at baking and decorating a cake. I had no idea what to do, I didn't even know how to COVER a cake let alone make the topper! I just went with my instinct and guessed how to do it. My daughter loved it and still does even though she's 4 now. This was the beginning of my love affair with cakes and strove me to keep learning new things -though it's only from books- I have a go at anything now!
