Mandy's Secret
This cake I made for a friend's daughters Lingerie Shower. It's a mixture of several cakes I've seen on Cake Central. The cake is Neopolitan with Cream Cheese/Whipped Cream filling, Covered in Buttercream and Fondant accents. The Brides name is Mandy, so on the lid I put "Mandy's Secret" instead of Victoria's Secret.
very pretty and it sounds delicious :)
Oh wow! How did you do the lid? Is it cake covered with fondant? Looks great!
This was one of my very first cakes and I had no idea how to do the lid. So....I got a real lid and covered it with black Fondant and let it dry. Kind of an easy way out! LOL@!!
What a great idea! I'm all for the easy way! LOL!
As an avid VS shopper...this is great! How did you get your lid so black? Also, after you covered the real box lid w/ fondant, did you remove it before putting the fondant lid on the cake? Thanks for any help!!
I had to paint the lid with black coloring. If I do it again, I will order Fondant already tinted black! I didn't not remove the lid before putting it on the cake. Next time I will use the lid to shape the fondant, let the fondant harden, then take the lid off. This was one of the first cakes I ever made, but I'm learnin'! LOL!
