Are those real orchids? I like the looks of the cake that way! Great job
This is a beautiful cake! How do you know if the flowers you use are okay for the cakes?
Those are real Orcids. She got them at Costco. I tell the brides to make absouletly sure that it's safe to use the flowers on the cake. The brides always come back saying that as long as you don't eat the flowers it's okay. There is a list of poisonous flowers online.
very pretty! Orchids are my favorite!
Very pretty!! So you poked the flowers right into the cake? I'd be concerned about sap seeping into the cake whether it was harmful or not. I use the plastic vials for flowers to be inserted directly into a cake. I also wouldn't leave it up to the customer to research the flowers to be used.
I love the green colored dots against the white icing...good job!
One word... BEAUTIFUL!! You did an absolutely awesome job with the dots on the cake and the flowers too btw.
I'm w/ carolann on this one...I have only done one wedding cake and fortunately did not include and flowers at all, but I don't think I would poke the flowers right into the cake at all, I would use those vials too! I would do the researching myself just to be safe, b/c I wouldn't want a lawsuit on me!! BTW - very nicely done though!
