Is that adapted from the Celebrate Wedding Cakes book? The finework is lovely! Also, is the fondant tinted, or is it chocolate underneath?
Love the string work, so delicate looking. I have to ask, how did you place the pillars, is there a plate under the (fondant) icing? And the blue ribbon woven in look, I love it all!
Wow, what intricate work on this. I am impressed!! I don't think I've ever seen one like it. You did great!!
Thank you everyone for your comments. Yes, the idea was from an old Wilton Celebrate book: from the Australian designs. The fondant is tinted & the cake is fruitcake. To support the cakes, I put doweling through each cake.
WOW! And this was your first cake to do like this?? You did an awesome job!!
How lovely. I have not tried the stringwork yet. It seems so difficult. Good work.
