Full-Sheet Chocolate Cake With Buttercream Icing And Edible Images

My husband's cousin is on the high school swim team. For their last meet they are having a celebration and requested a cake somewhat like the one I did for the water polo team earlier this year. Although, naturally, things didn't go quite as planned, I am pretty happy with the way things turned out.

The meet was postponed due to weather conditions! Luckily, Aunt Bonnie has access to a walk-in freezer!

The names alongside the picture are on an edible image...it is a digital font to look like a scoreboard. I had made the rest of the lettering out of royal icing, planning to place them on the cake...didn't work, they fell apart, so I had to try to reproduce the digital look directly on the cake.

Thank you for all the kind words! This is one of the few cakes that has pretty much turned out the way I originally visualized!
