You may have seen this cake around on Google images or others based off of mine I'm so glad that it could inspire others to get there sock monkey groove on, Ive had it on my website for a good long time now and i forgot that I never posted it, so here it is. All of the tiers are triples(6 inches high) except the hat. all are covered in fondant (satin Ice). I extruded the fondant to get the pom pom ball look, and used a knitted impression mat for he texture on the sock monkey, sock and hat. All of the details are all made out of fondant even except the knitting needles, i used gumpaste for those. The whole thing took around 7 hours to complete, the wood grain effect is hand done with tools to mark in streaks and grooves into the fondant, and then a colour wash is done over the top.
