My 1St Ganache

My 1St Ganache on Cake Central

This is a butter recipe yellow cake with chocolate pudding layers. This was my very 1st attempt at ganache. it was much easier than I thought it would be. Next time I know to put a nice think crumb coat on so that layers do not show. This is also my first ever cake that isn't a Wilton class cake. not perfect, but I am pleased. Please feel free to critique. I need it.

Your ganache looks great to me! The only thing I can critique is your flowers and vines. What tip did you use for the flowers? If you were using one of the drop flower tips I would squeeze and hold to get a full flower the stop all pressure and pull off. Your border looks perfect!

For the vines I used a #2 but my buttercream for both vines and flowers was WAY to thin and soft (if that makes sense.) I just wasn't too sure how to fix it and do so quickly. it wa sfor a neighbor who had gotten out of surgery, and it was getting late, I needed to get it to her. Thanks!!

you are right about the cumb coat, even though i dont use one, it may help to hide the layers in your cake. But i absolutely love your combination of colours. It's very dramatic, you did a great job.
