This is what I came up with for my youngest nephew's first birthday. The theme was "Lil' Rebel," and the smash cake I made was entirely too big, but it was the smallest pan I had at the time. It was my first attempt at any type of tiered cake, my first attempt at decorating with fondant, and my first Viva towel method attempt for the icing. (Too many firsts on one cake, I know.) My husband almost made the small cake slide off the board as he was setting it on the table. Thank goodness it didn't fall completely off!
