Linley's owl cake is three 10" layers, yellow/chocolate/yellow with strawberry cream cheese filling. The owl is made of rice krispy treats and covered with chocolate & pink buttercream, the nest a mixture of chow mein noodles & melted milk chocolate morsels. The roots of the tree trunk are also formed of rice krispy treats and the tree & roots are covered with chocolate fondant. They were wood-grained and hand-painted with brown food coloring. The toadstools, ladybugs, flowers, grass & owl trims were made of fondant/gumpaste.
