I've seen a lot of these on here and wanted to try one - many thanks to mvucic, whose snow globe cake I specifically took inspiration from. Cake is for my parent's Christmas party. Chocolate cake with dark chocolate frosting; borders are chocolate frosting decorated with Christmas sprinkles. Snowman is gumpaste with fondant accents. Christmas tree is a sugar cone turned upside down and decorated with royal icing and a candy star. It's hard to tell, but I put sanding sugar, edible glitter and disco dust inside the globe for "snow" around the snowman and tree. "Snow splat" on top of the globe is fondant.
