A Hello Kitty birthday cake for a little girl's third birthday. The cake is white cake, strawberry filling. The Hello Kitty was formed with fondant. In retrospect, gum paste would have been the way to go but the project was pushed up a day so I had to start on it earlier than expected and wasn't able to go get gum paste in time. The pieces were placed in the oven with the light on (no heat) for several hours until they were dry enough to hold their shape. Both mother and birthday girl loved it!
