Aunty Jean's Aboriginal Chronic Care Mini Olympics 2011

Wickedly Chocolate & Coconut Size: 85cm x 60cm Decorations and dot work in Royal icing, rolled fondant cover Am happy with the design, but always think I could have done better. This cake is my contribution the the mini olympics. Mimi ? Mimi is the healer that comes from Alcheringa. You can hear her singing in the wind and feel the rubble on the ground from her dancing. In her dilly bag she brings earth from Alcheringa which she spreads over all that needs healing Fire Spirit ? the Fire Spirit was sent to this land to quell the flames so that it could be made inhabitable for the people. The Fire Spirit danced and chanted until the flames died down, he is the restorer of life. Animals ? the animals represent the totems of all those that are attending the games Foot Prints ?the footprints are a reminder that we do not walk alone on our journey Wattle ? Wattle is the Australia flower, it is also the symbol of renewal and success The centre of the left side is our corroboree place at the workshop, the three lines of design are our life?s path The top right hand flag is the Aboriginal flag and the bottom one is the Torres Strait Islander flag.
