Got the inspiration for this one from a painting called Autumn Fairy by Anne Stokes (http://www.annestokes.com/fantasy/autumn_fairy.htm). This cake tried everything in its might not to be made. Nonetheless my family celebrates the arrival of fall with this pumpkin spice cake with brown sugar buttercream filling and maple frosting. The fairy is made out of fondant hand painted with luster dust. The leaves are fondant and painted as well.
