I love weddings and always feel honoured when asked to create the wedding cake, especially if it's for a close friend. The couple exchanged vows at the Gardiner Museum during a sunset ceremony overlooking Queen's Park and the downtown skyline. Tailored to reflect the minimalist design of the venue as well as the chic urban style of this trendy couple, the cake was adorned with deep purple orchids and the bands wrapping each tier was brushed to simulate the look of dupioni silk. I also wanted to commemorate their dog Bailey who passed away two weeks before the wedding, by placing two tiny paw prints on the base of the cake.
