I made this Moroccan-themed cake for my own wedding this past July. The bottom layer is a hexagonal cherry pound cake finished with SMBC, rolled fondant and hand-tiled gumpaste mosaics. The second middle layer is a hexagonal carrot cake finished with cream cheese SMBC, rolled fondant, gumpaste decorative pieces and isomalt jewels. The top layer is a gluten-free chocolate cake finished with mocha SMBC, rolled fondant, and painted luster dust details. The internally-illuminated lantern topper was constructed with gumpaste panels and isomalt "glass" panes; it was finished with an edible bronze airbrush colour.
