Fire!

This cake was soo much fun! There was a group coming to our venue to celebrate selling 1 million copies of a video game. They sent me a logo and asked for a sheetcake with the logo on top. I then drew up a sketch and kindly let them know that they needed something much cooler than a sheetcake, and they agreed! This is what I came up with. :) Chocolate cake with caramel mousse filling and white chocolate buttercream covered with fondant that was airbrushed to achieve the colors. The fire though, that was the fun part. Iused isomalt tinted yellow and pulled the flames, then gradually added orange and red and a little purple in order to get all the fun colors of fire. For a little extra pizazz we put flickering led lights and an orange led light in the middle. I spent days searching the internet trying to find out how to make sugar flames, and in the end decided to wing it (since info was non-existent!) and am super happy with the results. TFL
