Hearts & Roses Cakes

My 2nd wedding cake order...Problems from start to finish, you probably can not see it but the bottom tier got damaged 1st from transfering to cake board and them to make matters worse in transit to wedding venue! AAaaaaah, I had to try and work som major magic to cover up the cracks on the bottom tier using the sugar roses I made. Customer did not seem to notice, but I was very paranoid about it. Any advise from anyone on how to fix cracked sugarpaste??? I am hoping this will not happen again!

This is just a smashing cake design, bright and romantic. I love it! I so wish you had entered this in the Valentines Day contest. On repairing cracks in fondant, Duff Goldman pipes a tiny line of royal icing in the crack and smooths with his finger or small paint brush. I added this one to my favorites and I am very picky about which cakes I save there.

it looks great! i can't tell that you had any problems at all with it! try using glycerine or crisco in your sugarpaste to prevent cracking!
