I have to make 45 of these darn things for a wedding cake this week and I had never made one. Im getting the 5 petal rose cutter tomorrow but wanted to play around and do it the old fashioned way to see how it would turn out. Turned out pretty darn good for my first one! If it didnt take 20 flippin minutes to do them this way Id start tonight lol. Wilton has plastic rose bud starters which I used. Made the bud in the center VERY simple to do. The 2nd picture is the very first step of applying the gumpaste to the plastic center to make the bud. The picture of the bud is the color of the rose. The final picture came out very light for some reason.
