I made this cake to match my daughter's baptism invitations, which had black & white damask print along one edge, and a burgundy ribbon/bow. I tried to do the damask around the cake by sponging black dye onto a homemade template, but it didn't work :) So, I ran to Michael's to find ribbon to put on, last-minute. I thankfully found that Wilton sold damask edible sugar paper, so I used that! Thank you, Wilton. The roses are real, but since the cake is so small (6" and 4" tiers), I did not use stem tubes--just plastic wrap.
