Fire Truck on Cake Central

cut from a 9x13 layer cake, with buttercream frosting.

is your cake all buttercream? I like the idea how you didnt use a pan, but did the actual cut outs and put together. was it hard? I need to do one next month for a coworker that is also in fire...Im ems. can u tell me how u did it?

yes it is all buttercream. It is three layers, each step was a layer and the third was the top of the cab and the rear portion of the truck. i cut a notch out of the back and used a flat tip to make the hoses in it. The only hard part was tring to ice the red onto the area between the front and rear parts, above the steps, That may have been due to the size of the cake though. everything else was piped on using different sized tips.
