So the orginal cake turned out to slide a bit more than I could reasonably ignore. So in the middle of the night I took the flowers out cut the fondant down the sides, scraped of the top of the cake, re-smoothed the buttercream, flipped the cake over, and pieced it back together. It looks more like an upside down flower pot now, but considering it all but crumbled in the middle of the night and I did what I could to save it. I love the way it turned out.
