We made this very special birthday cake for a 60th birthday celebration. Since the birthday boy's favorite player is Mickey Mantle and favorite team is the NY Yankees, his wife decided to throw his party at Yankee stadium. To go along with the theme we created this jersey-style cake. When we heard that guest of honor almost got a hold of Mickey's baseball glove but lost out to Billy Crystal, we thought it would be funny to recreate that in the cake. This very vanilla cake was filled with mocha buttercream and iced in french vanilla buttercream and covered in fondant.
