A nurse who loves her two pomeranians is the recipient of this cake! The dogs are crafted to look like her actual dogs. Chocolate cake and buttercream with some fondant accents. The dogs are both hand sculpted out of a mix of gum paste and fondant. They were painted with gel food colors as well as the powdered food colors (to get more of a fuzzy look to the fur). Lesson learned: Dogs and cakes don't get along--the boy jumped off the cake and decided to take half the icing with it! Needless to say the icing isn't nearly as perfect as I'd like it to be, but not too bad for a salvaged cake! :0) TFL!
