The birthday girls favorite book is the Lightning Thief. The whirlpool and water droplets are hand casted sugar flavored in sour raspberry. All the other elements are fondant. It is a layered chocolate and yellow pound cake with ganache icing under the fondant. The pound cake carved very easily. It wasn't necessary to freeze it first.
