This is my first 2-tiered cake. It is just white cake with chocolate buttercream filling and plain buttercream icing. It is also my first attempt at cornelli lace as well as my first time using the comb on the side of the top tier. It was a fun cake and I feel like it broadened my decorating horizons :-) This picture is not quite finished. It ended up on a beautiful plate with a shell border around the bottom and their original 50-year-old bride and groom cake topper.
