This is my very first purse cake. The purse is made out of 6 thin layers of vanilla cake, filled with vanilla buttercream; the base of made out of 2 layers of lemon cake, filled with vanilla buttercream. I have carved the purse, after freezing it for about 1 hour .. made the carving much easier. The leather trim, bow, pearl neckless & bracelet and flowers are made out of gumpaste; the shoes are made out of fondant and I have used an airbrush to paint everything. Once everthing was dry, i have used pink pearl dust as the final coat of color on the purse & shoes. This is for one of my girlfriend's 40th birthday!
