Tree Stump Wedding Cake

This cake was made for a couple who are from Oregon (The "Stump State"). They have a very similar stump in their front yard (with their initials carved in it) and thought it would make a fun and different wedding cake. The cake is 9 - 10" round stacked. I divided the cakes in groups of three. The top and bottom "cakes" were each three layers of chocolate fudge cake with a layer of white chocolate and a layer of dark chocolate buttercream. The middle cake was three layers of Snickerdoodle cake with cinnamon buttercream. I first carved the lines, then hand painted them then finally layered the coloring with my airbrush. It is amazing how much depth you can give the cake by layering multiple colors. I am going to add a pic of the cake before I airbrushed it. TFL
