The twin sisters who celebrated their 6th birthday yesterday, and we were lucky to be a part of their celebration. We were introduced to this family when mom contacted Icing Smiles to see if we could help make this a very special birthday for the girls. Cassidy suffers from Tuberous Sclerosis which causes tumors to grow in the major organs of the body. In her case, it's attacked her brain. Cassidy has had 4 brain surgeries since she was diagnosed at 6 months. Kiley has been right by her sister's side and has made more sacrifices in her 6 years than any child should have to make in a lifetime. Icing Smiles provides cakes to terminally ill children and their siblings, and while Cassidy is doing well, we felt that both her AND her sister deserved a special birthday this year. We combined two of their favorite things, Spongebob and Mary Poppins into one special birthday cake. This year, for their first time, both girls got to celebrate their birthdays happy, healthy, and at home without any sacrifices.
