Bakugan Birthday

This cake was truly a challenge. Actually, the cake part was pretty easy. It was the actual Bakugan that was the challenge. My son is addicted to Bakugan and was desperate for a Bakugan cake. I always try to give them a big cake. this was no exception, considering I just make my cakes on the fly.

I took a 11 inch Styrofoam ball and cut it in half. I then took the top half and cut out the head from the middle, leaving the sides for the wings. On the bottom half, I cut our the pieces for the feet and turned them upside down. I iced each of the pieces before covering them with maroon colored fondant. I then added the accent colors and fondant horns. I used thin wooden skewers to attach all the pieces together.

For the actual cake, I used a large sheet with plain vanilla frosting. I took a plain piece of paper and cut our the starburst shape and layed it on top of the cake. I then sprayed the cake with Wilton spray colors. I hand cut the Bakugan letters out of black fondant.
