the cake is all fondant and the number 30 is gumpaste. the base is a 3 layer 12in round, the middle is a 2 layer 8 in round and the top is a 2 layer 6 in round. the balls around the boarder are fondant as well as the roses. i made the roses a few days in advance so they would dry. the number was also made in advance. the draping was hard at first but by the last one it was easier. first time i have draped fondant.
