I made this cake for a local pest control company's display at a local home and garden show! It was so fun to make! I used Rose Levy Beranbaum's All-American Chocolate Torte recipe from The Cake Bible to carve the bug's body/base, and the rest is all fondant. I started with white fondant and hand painted the whole thing... seemed easier than trying to layer.
