Everything went wrong with this cake...it was a very humid day and I don't know what happened to my icing. It just wouldn't stick. As you can see the icing is sliding down the cake and bulging at the bottom. The second tier had to be stripped of its icing and covered in fondant because that one just didn't stay on. And the bottom tier had roses but those were too heavy and slid off so I had to put rose buds that looked horrible because the red was smeared from the roses. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the party (an hour away) the bottom cake had lost all of the icing. It slid right off and the top tier had fallen back because the dowel didn't go through the bottom cake so that tier got crushed in the back. My 5 yr-old niece loved it anyway and at least it tasted good. TFL any advice is well received and greatly appreciated.
