Flavor: Base is Vanilla Bean with Sweet Cream Buttercream and Vanilla Simple Syrup (to give more moisture), and top is Hot Chocolate cake with Chocolate Frosting

This is a baby shower cake for my friend's friend as a surprise. My friend called me several months ago and told me that she had this vision where there was a dog with a rattle in its mouth. The upcoming baby's room has dogs all over it with blues, browns, etc. I took those ideas and thought of a nice baby shower cake where dogs come in and pretty much wreck it. Out of the four dogs, two of them are models of this girl's dogs (the top black one and the bottom brown and white spotted dog). I chose to do a dalmation as well as a jack russell. The top dog is biting into a rattle. The rattle is the only thing on the cake that isnt edible--it is a styrofoam ball with a wooden stick covered in gumpaste. The two dogs on the left are fighting over a baby blanket, and the dog on the right has undone a shoelace. The brown ribbon is made out of modeling chocolate.
