The bed is yellow cake with raspberry creme filling, covered in my buttercreme and homemade fondant. The bedposts and the child's name are gumpaste, and the pillow is a piece of cake covered in fondant. The wood flooring, why, that's Pergo, isn't it? No, actually it's just more fondant. I created the woodgrain effect using brown food coloring mixed with vanilla extract, and I painted it on. This cake was SO much fun to make!! It was my first time attempting a woodgrain. I made planks out of the fondant and fitted it together just like when we put in our flooring. :) This cake was inspired by another one I found on this site; I'll try to find it and give credit.
